Important for manufacturers: Products that were produced up to August 7th can still be sold in stores despite containing E171. For the producers, however, it also means that you have to adapt. From now on, the whitening agent must be dispensed with in production – otherwise there could even be a ban on sale.
There could also be bottlenecks in supermarkets and discounters if certain manufacturers do not change over in good time. The next few weeks and months will show how well food retailers are responding to the ban.
