Presenter Inka Bause criticized the first seasons of her successful format “Bauer sucht Frau” in clear words.
Inka Bause (53) is indispensable as the face of the RTL dome show “Bauer sucht Frau”. In an interview with the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ), the moderator has now revealed that all beginnings are difficult. In the interview, she openly criticizes the first seasons of the format. “I didn’t like the whole mix, the whole attitude,” said Bause. She noticed that on a TV evening together with her mother on “Bauer sucht Frau”: “My mother looked at me, I looked at my mother – and was very helpless and sad.”
She herself was also met with severe criticism from viewers: “I was laughed at and attacked. And suddenly I realized: I can no longer defend it.” For the first time, however, she only dared to express her displeasure to the producers and say: “If we continue like this, I’m out.”
She asked the basic question: “Do we want trash or do we want feelings?” She had long since answered this question for herself: “I want to show true love and not sex on the first night and insemination gloves and conversations where everyone is up to the elbow in cows.” Fortunately, according to the moderator, her words fell on open ears and “since then we’ve been on the right track,” Bause is sure. On October 10, 2022, “Bauer sucht Frau” on RTL (also via RTL +) will be in its 18th season.
She wanted to go to “Das Supertalent”.
Bause spoke about another well-known TV format in the interview. In 2015 she was part of the three-person jury in the ninth season of “Das Supertalent”. It was “not an easy collaboration” with Dieter Bohlen (68), as Bause now reveals. “I didn’t know Dieter Bohlen personally beforehand. I sat down next to him, stood by my wife and didn’t regret it for a second.”
However, she realized relatively quickly that it just didn’t fit. “It’s like love. If you’ve decided to break up, you should stick to it. There was a reason for it. But even in love, the paths are unfathomable.” In season ten she was then replaced by Victoria Swarovski (29), the third jury member remained Bruce Darnell (65).
