The Swiss Football Association (SFV) is breaking new ground: on Monday, as the successor to Nils Nielsen introduced national coach Inka Grings receives a permanent contract with a notice period of six months. The unusual contract design should be seen as a “long-term commitment from both sides”, said Tatyana Haenni, the outgoing Director of Women’s Football at SFV. Grings, 44, will take up the post on January 1; it will remain with FC Zurich until the end of the year. FCZ are still playing six games before the winter break, including four in the Champions League, including against Arsenal with internationals Lia Wälti and Noelle Maritz.
