Inside Star Citizen: Galaxy Class

This episode of Inside Star Citizen features two new starships that go on sale for the first time during this year’s Intergalactic Exposition. The next episode should address the redesign of the Polaris.

galaxy

The Galaxy is a large ship (presented as a sub-capital) produced by the manufacturer Roberts Space Industries. It is a versatile and modular ship, which can be used for transport, hospital or refinery. Other modules may be offered in the future.

Its arrow-shaped exterior design, pointed at the front, is in keeping with the style of RSI’s larger ships, such as the Polaris and Perseus. Inside, the ship has lines reminiscent of classic science fiction. Due to the large size of the ship, the artists were able to take space to reinforce this impression and put all the necessary arrangements.

The ship is organized on two levels:

  • The upper deck occupies the aft half of the ship, the bridge being the most forward room on this level. Directly aft are the crew quarters, with a galley, recreation room, six single bedrooms and an office for the captain. The rear is occupied by the upper part of the hangar and the engine rooms.
  • The lower deck features an elevator to access the ship, a large modular area in the middle, and the hangar at the rear.

The particularity of the Galaxy hangar is that the exit is located horizontally towards the rear of the ship, between the reactors. Most other ships with hangars have top exits.

The modular section can be equipped with one of the following three modules:

  • the cargo module significantly increases the transport capacity of the Galaxy;

  • the refinery module allows you to exchange detachable bags that can be found on MOLE / Prospector mining ships to process the ore;

  • the medical module has several beds at different levels, and can take care of patients coming from the hangar or from a vehicle lift.

Developers want to remake multi-purpose modular crew ships, as they are close to having the related gameplay

C8R Pisces

This is the medical version of Pisces. This is the starting ship for this career.

Compared to the other variants, it has more speed but less range in quantum travel.

It is offered with a paint reminiscent of the emergency services (red and white), another blue paint, and it will be possible to use all the paints on all the variants.

The ship features a decontamination airlock and a T3 medical bed (the most basic.) It has storage space, a refrigerator, a medical console and a seat for a medic.

It is ideal for rescue and transport to a hospital.
