Inside Star Citizen: Occupation Location

In this episode of Inside Star Citizen, the developers of the project introduce us to a recently created team, whose mission is to translate the game, and give us a short review of the Siege Of Orison event.

Translation (Localization)

In order for Star Citizen and Squadron 42 to be accessible to the greatest number of people, the developers must allow players to choose the language of the game. dialogues, must be adapted.

Usually, this is a task carried out at the very end of development. Due to the specific nature of the project, Cloud Imperium Games has already initiated this process, with the implementation of the Star Word tool and a dedicated team. It is made up of people who speak several languages and are passionate about the project.

Adapting the game to different languages goes beyond simple translation. The Localization team must take care that the immersion and gaming experience are well transcribed into the target culture, and that the words chosen do not have different meanings depending on the country that uses them.

Siege of Orison

The main focus of the Siege of Orison event is to create a situation that emphasizes on-foot combat against non-player characters and medical gameplay.

The strong player participation in the event allowed the developers to collect a lot of quantitative data and qualitative opinions, which were used to improve Siege Of Orison and the gameplays it involves.

Thus, the performance of the game servers could be improved, bugs were corrected, and the content of the event was enriched.

The developers have ideas to continue improving it, with for example content so that players who arrive late still have things to do.
