A new feature reserved for Meta Verified subscribers will soon be tested on instagram.
After Twitter Blue, the Meta group also wanted to ride the wave of subscriptions for social networks, which have always stood out for being free. So, in order to justify the cost of the monthly subscription, Mark Zuckerberg’s group will offer new features.
An exclusive stream for subscribers
Meta Verified is the small badge that users of the Meta group’s social networks (Facebook, Instagram) can acquire for a monthly payment of nearly twenty euros. This is a significant investment when you know that it offers few additional options compared to regular users. So, to make the subscription more attractive, the American giant has thought about new features.
According to leaker Alessandro Paluzzi, quoted by Neowin, a new feed is expected to appear on Instagram soon, where only content produced by Meta Verified subscribers will be made available. This function would be offered after followed accounts and favourites, giving unprecedented visibility and a boost to those who have consented to the made in Meta subscription.
An unknown launch date
As a reminder, Meta Verified costs 13.99 euros per month for a web subscription and 16.99 euros per month for the mobile version. Until then, apart from adding a few stickers, Meta had made no particular effort to encourage the very many people present on its networks to take out the wallet. In comparison, Twitter Blue accounts benefit from many specific features, and even possible monetization of their activity.
Is this new kind of flow the beginning of a response to Twitter activism, in line with the new rivalry between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg? Difficult to say, especially since for the moment, no information on the launch date of the functionality could be given. It is also not known if only verified accounts followed by a user will see their content deployed, or if other Meta Verified subscribers will also see their content highlighted.
