Instagram has just announced the very imminent arrival of end-to-end encryption, a feature eagerly awaited by users. This is not the only functionality dedicated to confidentiality that will arrive within the application.
Meta scared us a little when, last week, the plan for linked messaging between Instagram and Messenger was abandoned. It was easy, then, to think that the company would eventually abandon Instagram messaging, the most recent of all its services, even though it had promised to integrate end-to-end encryption. Fortunately, the group did not go back on its promise.
In a press release, he announced that the technology will indeed arrive within Instagram messaging, just a few days after Messenger. No specific date yet, but it’s certain, it’s coming soon. And as proof of its good faith, Meta also presented other features intended to strengthen the security of conversations on Instagram.

Indeed, the social network also wants to ensure that no one accesses your conversations. To do this, i offers three new encryption methods that will activate when you connect from a new device:

- Google Drive key: which will automatically activate if your Google account is linked to your smartphone
