Will this new function be available on the PC soon?
Photos and videos on Instagram can currently only be published directly on the smartphone without any detours

In the future, a basic Instagram function should also be usable on the PC – the publication of pictures and clips.
Many people use Instagram not only on their smartphones but also on their PCs. So far, however, users there have lacked a crucial function: no pictures or videos can currently be published without detours. The content must still be posted via the smartphone app if, for example, users do not want to use additional tools. That should change, however.
The spokeswoman confirms the first tests
“We know a lot of people access Instagram from their computer,” explains a spokeswoman for Facebook in an interview with “Bloomberg”. Instagram has been part of Facebook since 2012. In order to make it easier for these users to use, the function of publishing posts via the browser is currently being tested, explains the spokeswoman. It is currently not known when the feature will be available to all users.
Social media consultant Matt Navarra, who was one of the first to discover the new function, explains to the media company that this should make influencers and professional users in particular “very happy”. He believes this move is part of “a much bigger plan” for the platform’s future. According to the report, Instagram could possibly work on further functions to attract content creators from competitors such as YouTube or TikTok.
