The US company Paired Power has presented the modular solar charging station PairTree for electric cars. The charging point is quickly installed and supplies electricity even in remote areas.
- This solar charging station for electric cars and e-bikes is ready for use in four hours.
- The ten solar modules that serve as the roof are bifacial and deliver 5 kilowatts under optimal conditions.
- If desired, the system can also be connected to the public power grid. But this is not necessary.
There are various approaches to being able to supply electric cars with electricity far away from charging points. Solar trailers like Tesla or Campworks are one possibility. The US company Paired Power presents another possibility with PairTree.
Bifacial solar panels serve as the roof. The ten modules should generate 5 kilowatts of electricity under optimal conditions. Electric cars can be charged directly with alternating current (level 2). The manufacturer’s goal is to generate electricity for an electric range of 120 kilometers per day. Most commuters should be able to live with that.
Alternatively, the electricity can be temporarily stored in a battery with a capacity of 40 kWh in order to be prepared for power failures.
price and availability
The prices for the PairTree start at 26,900 euros and range up to 60,000 euros depending on the equipment. Several stations can be coupled. There are also accessories in the form of lighting and more. Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. You can read more about alternative energy production here on Netzwelt.
