Hairstylist Richard Ward, who was Kate’s trusted man when it came to her hair for a long time, admits to the Daily Mail that he has a new favorite look on the 42-year-old: her hair tucked strictly behind her ear. According to experts, this hairstyle is said to have a rejuvenating effect.

The Princess of Wales is not keen on experimenting with her hairstyles. Either the hair is elaborately pinned up, or she uses a bouncy blow dry. Whether shoulder length or chest height, Kate’s hair always stays long. So it’s all the more surprising when Prince William’s wife opts for a new hair look, as she did at The Queen Elizabeth Award For British Design or the film premiere of “Top Gun: Maverick”. Both times, the likeable Brit shines with a modern, sleek hairstyle in which her hair is tucked strictly behind her ears.

Richard Ward writes of the look: “This was a fresh and modern look that made her appear radiant and youthful.” And the new hairstyle is also well received on the Cambridges’ Instagram account. One user commented on the evening’s reel: “Catherine looks stunning with her straight hair.” Heart and fire emojis support this mood.
The secret behind the facelift hairstyle
But how can a hairstyle have a smoothing and rejuvenating effect? Kate’s former hairdresser explains the phenomenon: “Pulling the Duchess’s hair back like that opened up her face and showed off her beautiful bone structure in a striking way. Her jewelry popped and so did her eyes. She’s beautiful as is, but this style has her good looks taken to a whole other level of glamor.” If you compare the sleek hairstyle with Kate’s curly mane, you’ll notice what Richard Ward means by the words “radiant” and “youthful”.
Duchess Catherine likes to wear her hair down. If you want to be more playful, the hair is wavy, for modern looks it is straight and close to the head. The latter hairstyle even has a face-lift effect.
