Smaller replacement event instead of the canceled open-air event
After two years of quiet, it will be loud again in Wacken in September.

The Wacken Open Air is officially canceled for 2021, but the organizers are offering an alternative in September: the “Bullhead City”.
After a two-year corona-related break, heavy metal will return to Wacken in September. Like the makers of the largest metal open air in the world have announced, will be from 16 to 18.09. the “Bullhead City” festival will take place for the first time. The first bands have also been confirmed.
So far, big names like Nightwish, Blind Guardian and Powerwolf have been confirmed. Doro, Saltatio Mortis, Nasty, Gaahls Wyrd, Endseeker, Slope and Burning Witches will also perform. These and the other bands will be distributed over several stages. How many metal heads will enjoy Floor Jansen (40), Hansi Kürsch (54) and Co. is not yet known. “The capacity for ‘Bullhead City’ will be determined and limited together with the relevant authorities,” said a statement.
Hygiene concept for a safe live event
There will also be a hygiene concept. However, this will be adapted to the requirements at the time of the event, taking into account further developments. Since the possibilities for camping and overnight accommodation are limited on site, 1-day tickets are also offered in addition to 3-day tickets. Advance sales are scheduled to start at the end of June and beginning of July.
