Actually, many expected the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 6, but it turned out to be a Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4. It’s basically a larger version of the well-known Xiaomi Pad 5, although the Chinese company is taking an interesting route with this tablet.

From a technical point of view, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is simply a larger Xiaomi Pad 5 (test). The display now measures 12.4 inches, but there is still only former high-end hardware such as the Snapdragon 870, up to 12 GB of RAM and a maximum of 512 GB of internal memory. It sticks with the 120Hz screen and optional stylus support, which makes a lot of sense on the larger tablet. Since a larger screen requires more energy, the Battery increased to 10,000 mAh and integrated 67 watt fast charging function. So you don’t have to wait long for the large battery to charge.

Much more interesting appears the “MIUI Pad 13‘ for Android tablets. It is a special surface for tablets. You already know this from Apple with the iPadOS. According to information from Xiaomi, the interface works on the basis of Android 12. It is probably the L version, which was developed for Android devices with large displays. The new interface should be specially designed for tablets and optimize operation. Widgets on the start screen can be better adjusted, multitasking has been optimized, apps specially adapted, there is a desktop mode and much more.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 for China only

Like the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 folding cell phone, the new Android tablet Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is initially only intended for China. It can be pre-ordered there for the equivalent of 431 euros and celebrates its market launch on August 16, 2022. It is not known whether the tablet will find its way to Europe and thus Germany. We’ll probably have to wait a little longer for the Xiaomi Pad 6.
