An 81-year-old lady was violently attacked in Nice while she was walking her dog. Her family, who welcomes the responsiveness of the police, however regrets the placement under judicial supervision of the alleged attacker. The octogenarian’s vital prognosis is in jeopardy.

It was an almost banal dispute that turned into a tragedy. A week ago, in Nice, an octogenarian was brutally attacked by a young woman while she was walking her dog. The alleged attacker was placed under judicial supervision, to the great dismay of the family of Claude, 81 years old.

If her daughter welcomes the work of the police who, the day after the events, arrested the alleged perpetrator of the attack, she does not understand the decision to release this 28-year-old woman, certainly unknown to the justice system, but who is still accused of having seriously caused the old lady to fall by pushing and insulting her.

“Extremely violent remarks would have been made”

“It’s violent, it’s gratuitous, it’s cowardly since we didn’t even help her when she fell, it seems that we turned on our heels and left this lady on the ground. I put all of this is in the conditional, but these are the first elements that we have, but extremely violent remarks would have been made, notably describing this little granny as an ‘old thing’. Her life prognosis is in jeopardy. If she survives, unfortunately, she risks being in a terrible state. She still has 7cm of edema,” says lawyer Audrey Vazzana.

For the family, we simply stole the end of life from this uneventful grandmother. The young woman, alleged perpetrator of the attack, risks criminal proceedings.
