Intel is preparing to launch the Arc A380, an entry-level graphics card. Prior to the announcement, a series of benchmarks lifted the veil on GPU performance. In addition, a new datasheet preview has appeared online.
In the summer of 2021, Intel announced its entry into the graphics card market. The global semiconductor giant has pledged to compete with AMD and Nvidia with a range of GPUs entirely based on the Alchemist architecture, the Intel Arc.
In the months following the announcement, we learned more about its new graphics cards. Based on the full list of model names, Intel will launch two Arc A380 and A350 cards for the desktop versions, while the portable versions are called A370M and A350M.
Intel’s Arc A380 first benchmarks
More affordable and less swift, Arc A380 represents Intel’s entry level. It has already appeared a few times on the web, confirming part of its technical sheet. In particular, we discovered that the card embeds an Alchemist GPU (Xe-HPG DG2) with 128 calculation units, 4.6 or 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM memory and a 96/64 bit bus interface.
More recently, the card appeared in a series of benchmarks on SiSoftware, famous benchmarking software. As you can see in the table below, the Arc A380 offers performance worthy of an entry-level or even mid-range card. The GPU has thus managed to reach up to 2869 Mpix / s in some recent benchmarks.
In view of the performance displayed by the graphics card, the Arc A380 from Intel should compete with solutions such as the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and GeForce RTX 3050 from Nvidia. Graphics cards do indeed oscillate between 2870 Mpix / s and 2978 Mpix / s.
At the same time, a famous Chinese leaker in the sector mentioned GPU specifications on his Twitter account, VideoCardz reports. Apparently, the graphics card does have 128 execution units and 1024 FP32 shading units. It would therefore use the entire DG2-128 GPU and the GPU Boost frequency would reach 2.45 GHz.

For the record, Intel should soon announce its new graphics cards. The presentation could take place as part of the CES, the Las Vegas Technology Show which will close its doors on January 7, 2022. We will tell you more as soon as possible.
