Little by little, we are (finally) beginning to take stock of Intel’s return to the Graphic card.

After a real false start with the release (in dribs and drabs) of the first laptops equipped with Intel Arc Alchemist graphics cards, we can finally see desktop models with the start of distribution in China.

About 146 euros in China

As explained by our colleagues from VideoCardz and with several months behind the first announcements, Intel has therefore marketed its Arc A380 graphics card in a desktop version, that is to say for desktop PCs.

We are obviously still far from the most powerful models of the Arc Alchemist range, but the release of this A380 marks the debut of Intel’s architecture with the ACM-G11 GPU and its Xe cores.

Marketed in China at 1,030 yuan including taxes, this card is placed in the entry-level segment (around 146 euros). However, Intel says that because it is 25% faster than the Radeon RX 6400, it is able to deliver 60fps at 1080p or medium detail.

A first “partner” card

At the same time as this communication signed Intel, it is the GUNNIR company which announces the release of its own Arc Alchemist card. The A380 Photon is thus the first partner board on Xe-HPG architecture.

Unlike the Intel model, the A380 Photon has a system with two fans. We also note the presence of a single 8-pin power port, while GUNNIR mentions the use of three GDDR6 modules of 2 GB each, with a speed of 15.5 Gbps, slightly less than the official specifications (16 Gbps).

Conversely, GUNNIR mentions higher frequencies for the GPU, with 2,450 MHz, when Intel only speaks of 2,000 MHz. Logically, the TDP is also higher (92 against 75 W). GUNNIR specifies that the card is overclocked by him before indicating that it has four ports for the display: three DisplayPort and one HDMI.

Finally, the manufacturer ends its announcement with a deliberately blurred photo of a more powerful Arc Alchemist model. It shows a card with a triple fan system, but not necessarily thicker than the A380. Difficult to draw conclusions on the model thus presented.
