Initially announced for the first quarter of 2021 without much more detail, Intel’s ARC Alchemist graphics cards will finally see their launch take place between the first and third quarters of 2022… depending on the type of GPU. We explain to you.

After the appearance of rumors reporting a potential postponement for the marketing of Intel’s ARC Alchemist dedicated graphics cards, the brand wanted to regain control on Thursday by giving us official news of its new GPUs. We learn that the initial launch window, in the first quarter of 2022, will be respected, but only for the portable PC segment.
Clearly, low-power ARC chips will indeed arrive on laptops in the coming weeks… but their desktop versions will materialize a little later: in the second quarter of 2022. Intel also specifies that the chips dedicated to workstations will be released for their share in the third quarter.
Intel Announces New Service and Gives News of Future ‘Celestial’ Chips
This Thursday, Intel also announced a new service called “Project Endgame”. The latter will allow customers to access Intel graphics cards through the cloud for always-accessible, low-latency computing experience“, summarizes The Verge. We still don’t know what the precise outlines of this project are, but it could be a competitor to Nvidia’s GeForce Now offer or Shadow subscriptions.
It also remains to be seen which GPUs will be accessible, and at what price. At this stage, it is not known whether this service will be centered on gaming or not.

At the same time Intel explains that it has started working on its future architecture “Celestial” . These third-generation chips will arrive as a reminder after the ARC GPUs“Battlemagus”that Intel should launch next year… and which has already been in development for several months. About Celestial, Intel promises on the other hand “a product that will appeal to the ultra-enthusiast segment“. Understand that these future graphics cards would be able to grapple with the ultra high end of Nvidia and AMD. Good news on paper, but it will be necessary to be (very) patient before being able to test all this.
