Intel: first stone of the projects in Ohio

(CercleFinance.com) – Intel and US President Joe Biden planned to lay the foundation stone today for two new foundries that the chipmaker plans to set up in Ohio.

These two ultra-modern factories – which must represent the vanguard of the semiconductor sector – are part of the gigantic investment project of more than 20 billion dollars that the Californian group intends to dedicate to this Midwestern state.

This envelope – which targets the manufacture of advanced components within a region already called ‘Silicon Heartland’ – will make it possible to create some 7,000 jobs in the building industry and 3,000 jobs for workers and engineers.

With this investment, Intel confirms its desire to reindustrialize in the United States with two new ‘fabs’ planned in Arizona and expansion projects in New Mexico.

The start of production of the two foundries in Ohio is scheduled for 2025.
