Intel releases app that can sync data between Windows PCs and iPhones

The Unison app syncs your smartphone, whether it’s running iOS or Android, with your Windows PC. Taking calls, sending text messages, transferring files, everything you used to do with your mobile phone, you can do it from your computer.

Intel presents a new application that should appeal to users who have not been able to choose between iOS and Android. unionthat’s its name, will allow receive and send text messages from your PC without having to use your smartphone. It is not only possible to write messages from a real keyboard, but you will also receive notifications from your phone directly on your monitor.

The synchronization of Unison with your smartphones is intended to be total, since it will also be possible to receive and make calls from your computer. Although bi-directional file transfer between your smartphone and your computer shouldn’t reach the 80 GB/s promised by USB 4 version 2, it should be easy and fast enough. A feature that alone should delight photographers who like to work on their shots in PC editing software immediately after shooting. The designers of this utility have particularly thought of IT professionals, since it should be possible to use it even in the presence of a VPN or a firewall.

Intel’s Unison makes it possible to use an Android or iOS smartphone on a PC

Unison is certainly very promising, but there is a downside. To begin with, the application will only be available only on certain Evo branded laptops 12th generation. Is this due to a particularity of the components of the range of high-end laptops or is it simply a marketing strategy intended to boost sales of this line of products which should not be released until later this fall? No one knows yet, Intel is content to add in small letters that Unison will be available later on other PCs. There is obviously no mention of any compatibility with computers running an AMD processor.

Other apps have tried to reconcile Android, iOS and Windows. Microsoft’s “Connected Mobile” on Windows 10/11 already allows you to use an Android on a PC. Apple has managed to unify all the devices in its ecosystem thanks to an excellent synergy between iOS 16 and macOS. Neither of these two applications, however, managed to leave the choice between Android and iOS to their users. Will Unison be able to bury the hatchet between all these competitors?
