Intel: the title supported by the latest advances in AI

(CercleFinance.com) – Intel shares climbed almost 5% on Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange, with the semiconductor manufacturer benefiting from its latest advances in artificial intelligence.

On the occasion of its ‘AI Everywhere’ day organized today in New York, the group lifted the veil on a whole series of new developments in data centers, the cloud, networks, ‘edge’ computing and PCs.

Intel notably presented its latest processor for personal computers, the ‘Core Ultra’ which it claims opens the way to a new generation of PCs powered by AI.

This chip, which offers innovations ‘on all fronts’ (graphics, power, battery life and new AI features) represents the biggest transformation of the PC experience in 20 years, since the launch of Intel Centrino and its Wi-Fi capabilities, Intel says.

As for its new server chip, the fifth generation of the product family, it allows an average performance gain of 21% compared to previous models, argues the Californian company.

Finally, its general director Pat Gelsinger made a first demonstration of the new revolutionary AI accelerator, Gaudi3, which is scheduled to launch in 2024.

With a gain of 4.5%, Intel shares recorded the largest increase in the Dow Jones index early Thursday morning, bringing its gains since the start of the year to more than 74%.
