A logical way for Intel to dispose of the stocks of its 12e generation of processors before the arrival of the successor.

We have known for several months now that Intel has the idea of releasing a new generation of processors during the fall. It is still difficult to know which references will be launched and in what quantities, but the American is already preparing the ground.

-5% after -10% in the second quarter

There is obviously no question of official confirmation from Intel, but several sources point out that the firm is preparing a new price drop on Alder Lake processors. It could be that the drop is plus or minus 5%.

During the second quarter of 2022, Intel has already reduced its prices (up to -10%) and this second reduction would have been confirmed by some major accounts. It would include both Core i5s and Core i7s, but we do not yet have the precise details of the operation.

Note that the thing is not new and that with each generation, Intel proceeds more or less in the same way. The idea is to roughly control the market, to avoid saturation among sellers, but also to liquidate stocks to make room for Raptor Lake.
