He says he fears that the process will lead to an administrative structure that is too technocratic, not suited to the challenges. “We’re not there yet, he explains. As soon as it is up to the task, I will make my proposals to the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic. “

However, his entourage assures him: even if he is not convinced by the functioning of the current structures devoted to public investment, the Minister does not have the ambition to steer the France 2030 plan, which will remain Matignon. Rather, his wish would be that he be totally independent of politics … “He was in the United States, he saw the Darpa [l’Agence américaine en charge des projets de recherche avancés de défense], he wants us to do better than what has been proposed ”, notes one of his relatives.
