Are you looking for that certain something that elicits an astonished “Wooow” from guests? Then these stylish tips for your four walls could be just the thing.

Have you been living in your apartment for a while but feel like there’s still room for more? You’re probably right about that – even though it’s already cozy and probably just as stylish. Sometimes it only takes small changes that can create a completely different feeling in the room. Are you looking for simple elegance – or are you looking for modern or retro and vintage looks? Here are our ideas:

1. Exchange trifles

Just swapping out the handles on your drawer or cabinet fronts can make a difference. With this small change, the effect of a room can be directly more luxurious. You can fall back on simple wood variants as well as noble or chrome-plated alternatives. With this you provide modern or vintage charm.

2. Choose large art for your walls

A large painting, a photo printed on canvas or a large framed photo looks impressive and makes an impression. Because they take up part of the room and again and again automatically direct the eye to the scenery or the colors that open up to it.

Of course, several small paintings or beautiful picture frames can also make a room look more valuable. Beautiful motifs or a few black and white pictures in an arranged gallery also make a difference.

A little tip: Alternatively, you can hang unusual wallpaper patterns in large picture frames and make a room new and exciting.

3. Take care of life in the apartment

Plants and flowers make your spaces livelier and more welcoming. They have a calming effect and (if you choose wisely) also improve the indoor climate. Whether you prefer fresh bouquets of flowers placed on the table or beautiful hanging plants and succulents on the shelf is up to you. You can also hang up the offshoots in a creative way or place them in a chic standing position. The art of knotting macrame is also suitable for full-grown forms.

4. Make new from old

Somehow it feels boring to always look at the same colors in your rooms? Then how about a new coat of paint for your door that stands out against the wall in a chic way! Or maybe your kitchen chairs would be freshly sanded, repainted and varnished, conjuring up a completely different look on your dining table? The choice of color is up to you.

For example, a dark blue or black door might be an option with white walls, but mint green can also make a nice contrast – and white or maroon chairs might look good with a light wood table. You can of course vary and, for example, use different colored chairs. And by the way, you can also turn new into old, after all, the shabby chic look is still in.

5. Replace your lamps

Maybe when you first moved in you got the cheapest lamp holders you could find. Most of the time it has to be done quickly and we just want to set up the roughest things. After a while, this can become noticeable in your own perception. After all, beautiful light in the room is essential for the feel-good factor – maybe you just need a warmer variant for a completely different atmosphere. Perhaps an optical upgrade is also needed on the ceiling.

With this project, however, keep in mind that many fancier lamps neglect the actual factor of lighting. That means: the light is often not the best with these unusual models. In that case, you might need a nice floor lamp as well.
