Have you ever walked into a room and immediately thought, “Wow, that has style”? You can also bring this effect to your home by paying attention to a few small things. We have four tips for you that can help make a room look classy and upscale.

Green, green, green

Green accents liven up a room and give it a pleasant charm. So, for example, large and impressive-looking plants are never a bad idea – or a painting that sets green accents. Green accents look particularly classy when combined with the right colors. For example with dark wood tones or other tones from the green color family. Blue is also ideal in combination with green.

Set golden accents

We simply associate gold with high class – and it doesn’t have to be a lot or real if you use it in your rooms. For example, how about decorative flower holders above your sofa in which you place some colorful dried flowers. But it can also be a decoration on the window sill or maybe a cushion with a gold pattern. Find out what suits you best. Metallic accents also give a room a nobler flair.

Big pictures – without a lot of frills

Large pictures or other works of art are an absolute eye-catcher. The eye immediately wanders to the exciting object and wants to discover more. However, a painting or a portrait works best when it can work on its own. So make sure that there are not too many other objects around it and reduce the power of the work of art.

More courage to color

Have you ever visited an old castle? Then you may have noticed that the nobility used to have a penchant for unusual wallpapers and sometimes even completely colored rooms. The blue room, the green room or the red room – it felt like there was this type of room in almost every upscale mansion. So why not show a little more courage to use color yourself? However, we don’t think it is necessary to paint entire walls – because if you don’t like them anymore, that means double the work.

Instead, an idea could be non-woven wallpaper with exciting patterns that can be easily removed again. However, it is advisable to speak to your landlord first when renting. Alternatively, you can hang up exciting wallpaper patterns in large picture frames and create an eye-catcher.

Long, flowing curtains

Long, flowing curtains visually lengthen your windows that may not be floor-to-ceiling – and they frame them, making the room look more inviting. You can get decorative curtains that don’t close; or those that offer privacy protection and thus ensure even more comfort at night. However: As nice as it looks when they hit the ground, it is also impractical. If you don’t want dust fluff on your curtains, you should let them end a few centimeters above the floor.
