It used to be a hit in every child’s room – now the living trend is moving in with grown-up decoration queens and kings. This is how you bring the stars from the sky into your home.

As a child, I dreamed of having my own starry sky in my room. A very specific film scene was not entirely innocent. Simba, who lies in the long grass, looks up at the dark sky, suddenly discovers his deceased father in the stars and feels new hope. At that age I had looked up and down at The Lion King and for me (and therefore more so for my parents) it was clear: The wall had to be painted midnight blue. At that time, I still painstakingly glued individual glowing stars to it.

Eventually, as you grow older, you come to terms with not being able to pull the stars out of the sky. What remains is the fascination for the sky and its bodies. On a clear night, crane your head to lose yourself in the twinkling constellations. In urban areas and cloud times, people are drawn to planetariums to get a glimpse of the universe.

Most have long since said goodbye to the dream of their own starry sky. But we don’t have to: because who says we can’t take a few of the childhood decorative joys with us into adulthood? In the meantime, more and more decoration queens among us have discovered that what was good for us as children can still make us feel good today: the starry sky trend is back! And this time clearly not just reserved for children’s rooms.

Living trend starry sky: Small decoration queens show us how it’s done

No matter what age: the sun, moon and stars now bathe your home in magical light that invites you to linger, marvel and dream. Don’t worry: we no longer have to laboriously climb ladders and bunk beds to fix individual plastic stars to the wallpaper with scotch tape. While we had briefly forgotten the sky dream, the technology has been finely developed and now presents us with the finest starry sky projectors.

And they are also wonderfully easy to use: look for a spot, plug it in, control it via the app – sit back. Depending on the model, there are now very different colors and patterns – so you can definitely bring the northern lights into your living room. Whether blue, green or purple-pink: the modes vary from device to device and leave nothing to be desired. The projectors are a wonderful replacement for a lamp and can be adjusted as required.

If you are less technical, you can also implement the living trend differently: for example with a dark blue painted wall that is decorated with a fairy light curtain. A trip to the children’s department is also worthwhile: night lights now adorn not only children’s but also living rooms.

There is a little coziness right away – and a feeling of security that we can also use well in adulthood.
