Italy: Juventus leadership resigns
The entire Juventus board of directors, including president Andrea Agnelli and vice-president Pavel Nedved, have resigned. The panel is apparently taking the consequences of investigations by the public prosecutor’s office into suspected accounting fraud. Agnelli has presided over the Italian record champions since 2010. General director Maurizio Arrivabene is to remain in office until a new board of directors is elected.
Germany: Kruse’s contract terminated
Max Kruse and VfL Wolfsburg have mutually agreed to an immediate termination of the contract, which runs until the end of the season. The 34-year-old striker switched from Union Berlin to the Werkself in January and explained the move back then, among other things, with his higher wages in Wolfsburg. Under the new “Wolves” coach Niko Kovac, Kruse no longer played a sporting role. He is said to be flirting with a move to US Major League Soccer.
