WM: Fifa rejects appeal

The Ecuadorian national team can finally plan for the World Cup in Qatar. The appeals committee of the world association Fifa rejected an application by the Chilean association against that of Ecuador. Chile had already lodged a complaint with the Fifa Disciplinary Committee because Ecuador is said to have used defender Byron Castillo in qualifying despite not being eligible to play. The Appeal Committee also came to the conclusion that everything was lawful. The last step left for the Chileans is to go before the International Sports Court.

France: Ex-PSG player Diallo charged

In the case of the attacked Kheira Hamraoui, her former PSG teammate Aminata Diallo has been arrested again and has now been charged with “criminal association” and “severe violence”. Diallo had previously been taken into custody but has always denied allegations that he knew about the attack. Hamraoui was attacked with an iron bar in November 2021. Both players competed for the same spot on the team. Four other male suspects were also charged.
