Intersport wants to strike very hard with this new full-suspension electric mountain bike

From November 2023, Intersport will introduce a new full-suspension electric mountain bike to its catalog. This is the Nakamura E-Summit 950S, which stands out for its price of 2899 euros and its very torquey engine. Frandroid was able to discover it in preview.

The Nakamura E-Summit 950S was previewed by Intersport, which invited Frandroid at its open day. The opportunity to discover this new electric mountain bike expected from November 2023, at a competitive price of 2,899 euros.

This VTTAE is based on a full suspension assembly. Understand by this that it benefits from both front and rear suspension, namely a Rockshox 35 fork with 140 mm of travel associated with a Rockshox Deluxe system with 130 mm of travel. Perfect for comfort, but not only that.

A very torquey engine

Intersport imagines it as a machine designed for all-mountain, and not enduro. More concretely, his skills predestine him for overcoming obstacles, trail running in the mountains or walks in the forest with more or less technical routes. While enduro is more about competitive downhill racing.

The Nakamura E-Summit 950S inherits the E-Power Max engine, known for its generous torque of 100 Nm. It is the same one that equips the Nakamura Cargo longtail that we were also able to see in preview. With this, the dynamism should be there both at the start and during the restarts.

Small concessions

Another similarity with the electric longtail, the central D16 screen which displays your speed or the assistance mode used – Smart mode is also included. The very notched 29-inch tires come from a brand belonging to the manufacturer Arisun. We are told that Intersport had to make a small concession here to succeed in containing the price.

Removable, the battery claims an energy capacity of 500 Wh. With it, you can travel up to 80 km, but expect 50 km if you use Boost mode with enthusiasm. The choice of transmission fell on a mid-range system, an 11-speed Microshift Advent in this case – Shimano Cues should arrive later.

Assembled (but not produced) in France

Finally, the braking part is provided by Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, while a telescopic seat post, always very practical, will allow you to play with the height of your saddle with a simple press of the dedicated trigger. Very useful for adjusting your position according to the type of terrain.

As with the longtail, assembly is carried out in Machecoul, in the factory of the Manufacture française du cycle.
