INTERVIEW. Florent Peyre (Dancing with the stars): “I make too many jokes for my partner”

Florent Peyre participates in “Dance with the stars” 2022. For Télé Star, the comedian confided in his adventure which is a real challenge.

Télé Star: Why did you agree to participate in “Dance with the stars“?

Florent Peyré: It’s a new adventure that will be rewarding. Each new project means that we meet people, partners, but also that we will learn, so come out better. In this case I’m going to progress in a discipline that I don’t know so it’s audacious, ambitious and challenging.

Have you done any physical preparation?

I am very athletic. I repeated during the summer in case I got shirtless (laughs). I tried to prepare myself to prevent injuries and to be fit for the intense dose of training. I even went on a diet.

Did you have any apprehensions?

I rediscover a fear: that of ridicule (…) I feel trapped in my body when in reality the more we go to the end of things the better. Today I understand this fear better. Above all, I want to succeed in integrating the choreographies.

Does humor have its place on the floor?

Humor is my mode of communication. Ever since I was little, I’ve been playing jokes when I’m happy, embarrassed, when it’s tense, etc. and that’s what I do sometimes in rehearsal. But at times I feel it’s too much for my partner. I can stay focused by making jokes, she can’t. Afterwards in the dance it is not my wish to bring it out. You already have to be very comfortable with the choreography to slip in humor and that’s not the case (laughs). There may be some but in spite of myself and there it will be a disaster!

A word about your partner…

I can’t be happier. I fell with the person with whom I get along the best. I have the impression that we were at school together and it is very pleasant. She has a humanity that touches me enormously. We have the same energy and the same way of approaching life.

It seems that you are superstitious…

I am very superstitious. I do a lot of meditation and positive thinking. I have a ritual that helps me. Before, if I didn’t do it, I could postpone my entrance on stage, but now it’s fine. I still do vocalizations, I do my yoga, my meditation,… All that allows me to get into my character.
