Interview with a Vampire Season 2: The main role is being recast – this is how it continues

• The role of Claudia from “Interview with a Vampire” is being recast.
• The young vampire is no longer played by Bailey Bass, but by Dalainey Hayles.

Before filming begins this week for season 2 of “Interview with a Vampire,” there is big news from US broadcaster AMC. The role of vampire Claudia is being recast. So far it has been played by Bailey Bass.

Instead of bass we now see Delainey Hayles in the skin role of the child bloodsucker. She stars alongside Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid, who play the other two lead roles of vampires Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt in the adaptation of the Anne Rice novel.

“Due to various unforeseen circumstances, I am unable to return for the second season of Anne Rice’s ‘Interview with a Vampire,'” Bass said in a statement. “Playing Claudia was a dream role and an incredible experience. I wish Delainey the best of luck in taking on the role. I can’t wait to watch it.”

AMC’s own statement reads: “Bailey Bass is a talented actress who has brought the character of Claudia to life in a remarkable way….For a variety of reasons, Hayles will appear as Claudia in Season 2. We are grateful for Baileys unforgettable performance in the first season and wish her only the best.” (via TVLine)

Bailey Bass was last seen in “Avatar: The Way of Water” as Tsireya. She will also take on the role in the upcoming “Avatar” films.

Season 2 will probably take Louis, Lestat and Claudia through Bulgaria, Romania and Paris, as season 1 doesn’t quite cover the plot of the first novel. The new episodes of “Interview with a Vampire” could appear at the end of the year on AMC and in Germany on Sky and Wow.
