Interview with a vampire: the series renewed for a season 2 even before its launch

While the series has not yet started in the United States, “Interview with the Vampire”, the new adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel, has already been renewed for a season 2.

Just days before its launch in the United States, AMC has just announced that Interview with the Vampire, the series adapted from the novel Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice, was already renewed for a season 2.

It was the first rave reviews for the series that led to this advance order, a few days before its broadcast on October 2. This second burst of episodes, consisting of 8 episodes, will take place in Europe and showrunner Rolin Jones (screenwriter on Weeds and Friday Night Lights) will continue to oversee the series.

Dan McDermott, president of programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, said in a statement: “This is just the beginning of an entire universe featuring exciting stories and characters that capture the spirit of Anne Rice’s incredible work.

This is already the second adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel to see the light of day. In 1994, Neil Jordan offered his version of the story in Interview with the Vampire, a now cult film starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst.

In this new iteration, Jacob Anderson, aka Ver Gris in Game of Thrones, will take on the role of Louis de Pointe du Lac, while Sam Reid (The Riot Club), will have the heavy responsibility of playing the charismatic Lestat. Bailey Bass (Avatar: The Way of the Water) and Eric Bogosian (New York Criminal Section) round out the cast.

For the moment, no French broadcasting channel has been announced.
