Investigations against climate glue
Nationwide crackdown on Last Generation

A nationwide raid is underway against the climate activists of the last generation. At the instigation of the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office, officials are searching 15 objects throughout Germany, according to the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office.

Police and prosecutors have been searching properties belonging to the Last Generation climate protection group since early this morning. A total of 15 objects were searched from around 7 a.m., as announced by the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office. Four of the properties are in Berlin, three each in Hesse and Bavaria. There is a suspicion that the activists would commit crimes, it said in a statement. Seven suspects between the ages of 22 and 38 are being investigated.

They are accused of forming or supporting a criminal organization. They are said to have organized a “funding campaign to finance further crimes” and advertised it on their website. So they would have taken at least 1.4 million euros. Two of the accused are suspected of having tried to sabotage the Trieste-Ingolstadt oil pipeline in April 2022. Arrests have not been made so far.
