Investigations underway – car with child on board ran over mother in Tyrol

Devastating accident on Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern: In front of a house in the Tannheimer Valley, a 40-year-old local woman was run over by her own car and seriously injured. Only the nine-year-old son was in the car at the time of the accident. He immediately alerted his father – investigations are underway.

The fatal incident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. In the forecourt of the residential building, the 40-year-old local woman was knocked over by the “slowly reversing car” and subsequently rolled over, the police reported. “While the woman remained lying, the car continued to roll and was finally stopped by a parked vehicle,” the investigators continued. Only the woman’s nine-year-old son was in the car that ran over the 40-year-old at the time of the accident. “He then ran into the house and reported the incident to his father, who started the rescue chain,” say the investigators. 40-year-old suffered injuries to her back. The mother, who, according to the police, had suffered injuries to her back, was responsive. She was first treated on the spot by the emergency services and then taken to the hospital in Kempten. It is still unclear why the car started in front of the house. Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.
