Prince Harry’s (38) new documentary series “Invictus Games: Invincible in the Heart” (original title: “Heart of Invictus”) does not find a large audience on the Netflix streaming service. While the controversial predecessor series “Harry & Meghan” by Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s (42) production company Archewell Productions, which was released in December 2022, became the second most successful documentary series in the history of the streaming service, “Invictus Games: Invincible in the Heart” cracks not even Netflix’s newly released Global Top 10.

“Invictus Games: Invincible at Heart” becomes a flop

In the weekly world rankings published by the streaming service itself for the period from August 28 to September 3, “Invictus Games: Invincible at Heart” is not even found in the lower places. It doesn’t look any better in the “Top 10” lists broken down by country either. Neither in his native UKnor in the United States or in Germany, Prince Harry’s heart project can place itself through the Invictus Games he created for war-disabled soldiers.

Netflix subscribers have thus made a clear judgment about the five-part documentary series that was released worldwide on August 30th. Incidentally, the anime adaptation “One Piece”, which only started on August 31, took first place in the Netflix charts. The eight episodes of season one have been viewed 18.5 million times across the planet. In total, Netflix users streamed over 140 million hours of the new series from the day it was released through September 3rd.

Is Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal shaking now?

It’s certainly not good news for Archewell Productions, the Sussexes’ production company. Because after their initial successes with the program “Harry & Meghan” mentioned at the beginning and with Duchess Meghan’s Spotify podcast “Archetypes” by Archewell Audio, which took the top position among the podcasts of the music streaming service in some countries, there have been some recently Setbacks for the Sussexes’ projects.

So Spotify did not commission a second season of “Archetypes” and even canceled the contract with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan completely. However, Netflix has so far – probably due to the huge “Harry & Meghan” success – to the prominent couple. However, after “Invictus Games: Invincible at heart” was able to generate significantly less attention than the previous production, it remains to be seen whether and how the Sussexes will continue on Netflix. Prince Harry is said to be planning a documentary about Africa for the streaming service as the next project.
