Prince Harry begins Invictus Games speech in German

Prince Harry didn’t learn German at school. Nevertheless, he insisted on beginning a speech in German.
His father King Charles III. (74) speaks excellent German, his grandfather Prince Philip (1921-2021) had German roots. But Prince Harry can also speak German – at least a little bit, as a video shows that the “Daily Mail” published. He presented his knowledge in a speech via video link, which he held at the upcoming “Invictus Games” in Düsseldorf.
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,” Prince Harry said almost without an accent, before switching to English. There are only 150 days left until the event he launched for wounded, injured and sick soldiers in 2014.
Last September, Prince Harry spoke a few words in German at an event at the venue: “Hello Düsseldorf. We, Meghan and I, are very happy to be here today.” Harry didn’t learn German during his school days. On a trip through New Zealand, according to the Daily Mail in 2015, he explained: “I learned French at school, but I almost forgot. I’m sorry. […] I wish I could speak German.”
King Charles III spoke German in the Bundestag in March
Just last month, on March 29, King Charles III. during a state visit to the German Bundestag in Berlin, a speech partly in German. There are also some audio recordings of him and his father Prince Philip, in which they present their good knowledge of German.
