It’s the same story with almost every update. Many users regularly complain about a drop in battery life on their iPhone when Apple rolls out a new version of iOS, whether minor or major. For about ten days, iOS 16.5 has been available and is causing complaints from its users.
Apple’s social networks and forums are full of posts where some users complain that iOS 16.5 quickly drains their battery and causes their device to overheat. However, these remarks should be tempered. As Apple recalled it last year when faced with the same criticism, it’s normal for apps and features to adjust within 48 hours of an update. Apple noted that this adaptation period usually disappears after a day or two, without requiring a specific patch to download. At this point, therefore, it is irrelevant to specifically blame iOS 16.5.
Remember that one week before the official release of iOS 17, which will succeed it in beta version, iOS 16.5 is considered a minor update. This is available for smartphones from iPhone 8 and focuses on security patches. The update also brings some improvements to the Sports tab of Apple News, fixes an issue with replies on Spotlight, and resolves some issues with the Screen Time feature.
