Apple Mail

You have probably already sent an e-mail by mistake or inadvertently. With iOS 16, Apple will give you a short reprieve to cancel an email before it reaches your recipient’s inbox. Find out how in this article.

A few days ago, we informed you that you now have a few seconds to cancel sending an email with iOS 16. But while waiting for the public beta of Apple’s OS in July, as well as its official deployment at the start of the school year, we invite you to find out how to cancel a shipment in time.

Here’s how to unsend an email on iOS 16

With iOS 16, Apple seems determined to offer more new features than with previous versions of its operating system. Among these novelties, we find the possibility of canceling the sending of an e-mail from the “Mail” application of your iPhone. To do this, and as the media 9to5Mac explains it to us, here are the steps to follow. Be careful, you will only have a few seconds to enjoy it:

  1. In iOS 16, open the Mail application from your smartphone;
  2. Immediately after sending an email, look at the bottom of your screen;
  3. Choose the “Undo Send” option, which will only be available for 7-10 seconds after an email has been sent (this may depend on your internet connection);
  4. You will see the draft email again, choose “Cancel” in the upper left corner to cancel sending the email;
  5. You can make sure the email was not sent by checking your “Sent” folder. It will be saved in your “Drafts” folder. You are free to modify it or delete it permanently.

As a reminder, this is not the only novelty to come within the Mail application. You will also be able to plan the sending of your emails or to make reminders at a specific date and time.
