Your iPhone is aging and you fear the worst regarding its eligibility for the latest version of iOS? Apple yesterday unveiled the full list of its smartphones compatible with iOS 16… and if your model is old, it is indeed possible that it is not concerned.

Because, if iOS 15 could proudly be installed on devices launched in 2015, such as the iPhone 6S, this is not the case for iOS 16. The new version of Apple’s operating system thus abandons the iPhone 6S , 6S Plus, the first generation of iPhone SE, but also the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

So many devices deemed too old by Apple, which this time restricts its sesame to iPhones launched in the last 5 years “only”.

As specified DigitalTrendsthe Apple brand also puts aside its iPod Touch, whose latest model, in disrepair, was removed from Apple’s catalog last month.

Ultimately, Apple will roll out iOS 16 to iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, second-generation (or newer) iPhone SE, iPhone X, iPhone Xr, Xs and Xs Max, iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, the iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max as well as the iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Of course, the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro will also be affected, since iOS 16 will be installed there by default.
