  • In iOS 17, Apple is supposed to comprehensively revise the live activities on the lock screen, among other things.
  • Among other things, the view of the navigation via the map app could change significantly.
  • A leaker shared corresponding screenshots on Twitter.

In a few weeks, Apple is expected to introduce the upcoming iPhone operating system iOS 17. Not much is known about the update, but there are currently new rumors about the lock screen.

As reported by 9to5Mac, citing the leaker @analyst941, Apple should revise the live activities on the lock screen. The leaker shared a corresponding screenshot on Twitter that should show the map app with ongoing navigation on the lock screen.

The change to iOS 16 is clear. Apple is currently showing full-surface navigation on the lock screen. If the published image is real, the manufacturer will display the map section much smaller and display the date and time permanently.

This is reminiscent of the music app that is already similarly integrated into the lock screen under iOS 16. Whether the manufacturer will actually implement the change remains to be seen. At least not all users will welcome a smaller display of the navigation on the smartphone.
