This Tuesday, September 12, Apple finally unveiled its future devices. So this means that we now know the release date of its new operating systems.

As a reminder, the four new iPhones announced will be officially available for purchase next week, Friday September 22. Pre-orders will open one week before launch.

iOS 17: what’s new and which devices are compatible?

It has now been several weeks since the new version of iOS has been available for beta testing to developers and users. Initially announced in June, iOS 17 will soon arrive with a set of new features. Among them, we will find in particular contact posters, which will allow you to personalize the way in which your file will appear to your loved ones. Other features are obviously planned, including NameDrop and StandBy (or Standby), which will respectively allow you to share your contact details with other people and place your iPhone horizontally to transform your lock screen into a connected screen.

If iOS 17 will be natively pre-installed on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, remember that the new version of the software will also be compatible with the iPhone XR and devices released subsequently. Now you’re probably wondering when you can enjoy it, right? Well, imagine that’s what we’re going to see immediately!

iOS 17, iPad OS 17 and watchOS 17 arriving in a few days

Starting Monday, September 18, owners of compatible devices will be able to install iOS 17 on their iPhone. This same day, users of Apple tablets and connected watches will be able to download iPadOS 17 and watchOS 10 on their device. Please note, however, that only those who have an iPad with an A10 Bionic chip (or later) will be able to benefit from the new version of the software. For its part, watchOS 10 will be inaugurated with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 on September 22 (i.e. at the same time as the new iPhones).

To continue on smartwatches, know that you will need to have at least an Apple Watch Series 4 to benefit from the advantages delivered with watchOS 10. In addition to enjoying completely redesigned ergonomics for its applications, this version will welcome new health-related features. For its part, macOS Sonoma, whose password manager will finally be compatible with Google Chrome, will only be available from Tuesday September 26. As you will have understood, the wait will no longer be very long before we can discover the OS that will accompany us until next year from the Apple brand.
