iOS 17 will allow you to take photos at lightning speed


According to insider Matthew Cassinelli, the Shortcuts application is getting a welcome update to the iOS 17 beta. Indeed, you can now quickly access several modes of the Photo app. This drastically speeds up the process.

Since the beginning of July 2023, iOS 17 has already been available in public beta. The opportunity for users and Insiders to preview the new features of the next version of Apple’s OS.

We already know the existence of certain hidden features, such as the Screen Distance function, for example, which warns you when you look at your screen too closely and for too long. iOS 17 also offers a tool called Live Voicemail. Thanks to him, the OS is able to transcribe your voice messages in writing. Convenient for those who do not want to waste time listening to their voicemail. In another area, iOS 17 will also have a feature inherited from macOS Sonoma, namely GameMode. It should drastically increase gaming performance on iPhone and iPad.

The Shortcuts app makes taking photos super fast on iOS 17

However, we have just learned of the existence of a another welcome improvement on iOS 17. If you are a regular iOS user, you probably know Shortcuts app. It lets you add predefined or custom shortcuts on your devices to your favorite apps. Even better, the Shortcuts app also offers the ability to combine multiple steps across multiple apps to create task automations.

Thus, for example, you can create a shortcut “Publish an animated GIF” which is based on three consecutive actions:

  • Get latest captured photos in gallery
  • Create a GIF using these photos
  • Then Send a message to automatically send the final GIF to the recipients of your choice

However, insider Matthew Cassinelli has discovered a new update to the Shortcuts app on the beta version of iOS 17. Thus, the app now allows access to some modes of the Camera app such as Cinematic, Panoramic, Photo, Portrait, Portrait Selfie, Selfie or even Slow-Mo, Time-Lapse and Video. With this addition, users will be able to Quickly access Photo mode from Hotkeys without having to go through the Photo app itself. As a reminder, the stable version of iOS 17 should be deployed in the fall of 2023.
