iPad: the range would get a facelift in 2024, a 12.9-inch iPad Air expected

2024 promises to be a big year for iPads. Apple plans to offer a new version of all models in its range of tablets. In any case, this is what the generally well-informed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports. In addition to an iPad Pro M3 with Oled screen, an iPad mini 6 and an iPad 11, two new iPad Air would be there, including the long-awaited 12.9-inch model.

iPads are stocking up with new models in 2024

In a recent report published on Medium, Ming-Chi Kuo gave pride of place to iPads. “Apple will improve existing iPad models and launch a new model in 2024, but shipments are still far from the 2022 peak due to declining work-from-home demand and a lack of structural change in user experience in entertainment and productivity”he assures.

In detail, the analyst indicates that two iPad Airs would arrive during the first quarter of next year. The first would retain the same format, with a 10.9-inch screen, while the second would adopt a diagonal of 12.9 inches – still in LCD. Ming-Chi Kuo still emphasizes that the panel would be of better quality for this model, with specifications similar to the Mini-Led of the iPad Pro.

At the end of the first quarter of 2024 or during the second, Apple would formalize the iPad Pro Oled with M3 chip. These new versions “will adopt Tandem design and LTPO panels (the same as those used in iPhone 15 Pro), outperforming the existing iPad Pro Mini-Led in terms of display performance and power consumption”, explains the analyst.

Finally, Ming-Chi Kuo mentions the launch of the iPad mini 7 and iPad 11 during the second half of the year. No details regarding the developments made to these new models are provided.
