iPadOS 16: a hidden mode would enable Stage Manager on older generation iPads

The journalists of 9to5Mac however, went to dig into the code of the first beta version of iPadOS 16 delivered to developers and made an interesting discovery.

Apple would indeed have implemented an internal setting to activate “Chamois”, the code name defined by the brand for Stage Manager, on older iPads that do not include an M1 processor.

The Californian manufacturer could therefore take advantage of the summer period preceding the release of iPadOS 16 to conduct some internal tests and, perhaps, add some of its tablets to the list of compatible hardware.
