iPhone 14 vs. China manufacturer: Too stupid even to copy

With the “Dynamic Island” in the iPhone 14 Pro (Max), Apple makes a virtue of necessity and replaces the well-known notch with a new and exciting function. So ingenious that it won’t be long before Android competitors end up copying the feature. But a Chinese manufacturer is too stupid for that and is now making it extremely easy for itself to come up with ideas.

In the past, you could rely on it: Apple introduced a polarizing feature, the competitors from the Android camp made fun of it at first, but the thing was then cheekily copied and sold as a separate idea. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme is now too lazy to do so.

Realme wants to copy the iPhone 14 Pro: users have to help

With the revealing words “What does your dream island look like?” (originally: “What’s your dream island like?”) is aimed at its own users and asking them for ideas in the forum (source: Realme). Realme would like to know from its own fans how they can best copy Apple’s “Dynamic Island”. Own ideas? None, you can simply outsource the developer’s job.

It’s all about this:

iPhone 14 Pro (Max): Details on the Dynamic Island

Especially bold, Apple or the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) are not mentioned at all. Instead, it presents itself as a little naïve and throws out, “The UI around the camera hole could morph into different shapes and sizes to show incoming calls, alarms, notifications, and more.” Really? What does that remind you of? Then you call up the loyal fans and ask for ideas and suggestions on how such a software feature could be implemented on Realme devices.

The users should then share their ideas with drawings, GIFs or a comment. The best ideas would be considered for implementation. Of course, you can also do it that way instead of simply developing your own ideas as a company or simply copying Apple one-to-one, as has been the case up to now.

Perhaps the Chinese manufacturers will find more ideas in Apple’s new product range:

“Dynamic Island” meets with broad interest

The Notch alternative at least meets the taste of Android users. For example, a theme developer for Xiaomi cell phones has already presented a corresponding implementation. With Realme, a manufacturer is now officially jumping into the “island race” and will probably try to find a corresponding solution in the near future.
