Aside from new camera features and other functions, a new iPhone generation differs primarily through changes under the hood – the focus is on the processor and main memory. The rumor mill is currently sending positive signals about the latter.
Will the iPhone 14 get more RAM or will things stay the same? Insiders and experts were and are not always in complete agreement on this. Now the reporters from the well-known Taiwanese industry magazine DigiTimes have made a decision. As a result, all four models will actually have 6 GB of RAM (Source: DigiTimes).
iPhone 14 RAM upgrade: who gets what
For the two standard models, this means an increase of 50 percent, because the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini can currently only use 4 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 and the larger iPhone 14 Max will be able to use 6 GB of RAM in their entirety. As a quick reminder: There will no longer be an iPhone 14 mini. Apple does without the small model and will instead introduce an additional variant with a larger 6.7-inch display.
The two Pro models, on the other hand, still have 6 GB of RAM. However, in the form of the faster and more modern LPDDR5 RAM. The standard models, on the other hand, only get their RAM upgrade in the form of well-known LPDDR4X chips. Ergo: More RAM for the standard models, faster RAM for the professional league.

As is well known, Apple will make a perhaps even bigger difference this year with the chip equipment. The Pro models alone will probably get the actually new Apple A16, the Standard variants have to make friends with the already familiar A15 from the iPhone 13.
Pro models have the better upgrade reasons
In summary: Under the hood, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have the most innovations this year. Apple has given them a new chip and faster RAM. Those who opt for the standard fare will only get more RAM in the fall, nothing else that would speed up the iPhone. An upgrade should therefore be worthwhile, especially for those interested in the professional league. If you still have a normal iPhone 12 or iPhone 13, you should probably not upgrade and save the money. Just because it gets really expensive.
