Are the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Ultra two different iPhones?
In any case, this is what the new rumor of the day can lead us to think…
Apple’s new keynote is fast approaching: iPhone 15 and new Apple Watch on the program
In a little less than ten days, future iPhones will finally hold no more secrets for us. Yes, it is more exactly on Tuesday, September 12 that Apple will hold its traditional back-to-school keynote. In addition to new smartphones, this conference should also be an opportunity for fans of the brand to discover future connected watches, including the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 which will be lighter.
If you were with us in this rather scorching month of August, then you know that the news around the next iPhones was like the weather, that is to say particularly hot. We learned that Apple could unveil not four, but six new iPhones. If the various theories then suggested that the two new models could correspond to iPhone SE and Mini equipped with USB-C port, the new clues that reach us today lead us on a whole new track…
Is the iPhone 15 Ultra the new ultra high-end model from Apple?
For many months now, rumors have suggested that Tim Cook’s firm could rename the Pro Max range to Ultra. As a reminder, this name was adopted for the very first time last year by the highest model of the Apple Watch. Now, according to the information shared by a certain Majin Bu on X.com, we learn that the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Ultra would not be one and the same iPhone, contrary to what we thought until today , but two distinct models.
According to Majin Bu, the iPhone 15 Pro Max would ship 6 GB of RAM, with a storage space of up to 1 TB. In addition to being more expensive, the Ultra variant would be powered by 8 GB of RAM and its storage space could extend up to 2 TB. The camera of the iPhone 15 Ultra would also be more efficient, which could therefore suggest that it is this model which will benefit from the main new features mentioned for several months, including the famous periscopic lens with 10x optical zoom.
You will have understood it nevertheless, it is for the moment only rumors. While waiting for possible confirmations from Apple next week, we therefore invite you to take this information with a grain of salt. As our colleagues on the site rightly pointed out Apple Insiderthese leaks have not yet been corroborated by industry analysts and forecasters.

- Dynamic Island
- Overall performance
- Screen quality
Tim Cook usually concludes his presentation of a new iPhone by stating that it is the best ever. He’s absolutely right when he talks about the brilliant iPhone 14 Pro Max in so many ways. We appreciate the quality of its screen, the phenomenal computing power of the SoC A16 Bionic, the increased autonomy, and above all, the improvement of the photo and video parts, already powerful on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Dynamic Island is a great way to camouflage the hideous notch that sits on iPhone screens…and even make it acceptable. In the end, this gadget is more useful than futile, and we quickly appreciate its presence.
There remain the annoying points, such as the absence of an electrical adapter, the slow charging of the battery and, of course, the price. To afford the “best iPhone ever designed”, you will have to pay at least 1,479 euros for the 128 GB version, an increase of 220 euros compared to the 13 Pro Max. The 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB versions are offered at 1,609, 1,869 and 2,129 euros respectively, which are increases of 230, 260 and 290 euros compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max of the same capacity.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max is undoubtedly a great product. But its price becomes a deterrent for most potential buyers. In its 1 TB version, it crosses the 2,000 euro mark, like Samsung and its Galaxy Z Fold 4 (2,159 euros). After all, if buyers are ready to pay such sums, manufacturers would be wrong to deprive themselves of it…
