It is not the regular iPhone 14 that is currently popular with customers, Apple’s most expensive variant (iPhone 14 Pro Max) of all things is enjoying extremely high demand. There is a lot to suggest that Apple will soon come up with a pretty bad idea – at least from the customer’s point of view.
It’s now an open secret: the regular iPhone 14 disappoints, while the Pro models are the real winners in Apple’s current cell phone portfolio. The iPhone 14 Pro Max in particular benefits. According to world-renowned Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo, the top-of-the-line model is responsible for about 60 percent of all Pro-model order growth (source: Ming Chi Kuo). Incidentally, the screen of the iPhone 14 Pro Max was recently voted the best smartphone display of the year.

The expert then elaborates on his thoughts, assuming that this will encourage Apple to provide greater differentiation between the future iPhone 15 Pro Max and 15 Pro. Ergo: The iPhone 15 Pro Max could therefore have more features and functions than the regular iPhone 15 Pro. Think, for example, of the already rumored periscope camera, something like that could then be reserved for the Max model.

Ultimately, Apple wants to get customers to spend more money and buy the more expensive top model. If you spin the thought further, then possible price increases for the iPhone 15 Pro Max are also not entirely impossible. After all, Apple should test how far they can go with customers. On top of that, Apple’s prices are likely to rise anyway. Because the iPhone manufacturer now has to buy more expensive.
A pretty nasty idea, because buyers of a normal iPhone 15 Pro are practically demoted. As is well known, Apple is not a charitable association, but a listed company. Accordingly, the iPhone manufacturer is solely committed to growth and the margin. As long as customers continue to buy, the calculation will definitely add up for Apple.

iPhone 15 Ultra: New name in the game
A previous report also fits with these considerations. Insider Mark Gurman threw the renaming of the iPhone 15 Pro Max into iPhone 15 Ultra in the ring. Should the top model actually differ more from the regular iPhone 15 Pro in the future, a new name would only be a logical consequence and Apple could of course hold out even more and set the prices accordingly.
