According to various users, recharging theiPhone 15 driving a BMW could damage the smartphone.

While Apple has just resolved the overheating problem of its new iPhone 15s, the American giant already has to work on a new malfunction. Indeed, various users are reporting a new rather particular bug, since it only affects new owners of an iPhone 15 also driving a BMW vehicle.

iPhone 15 allergic to BMW wireless charging?

On various specialized forums, as well as on social networks, several users are reporting a problem visibly caused by the induction charging pad on board (recent) BMW vehicles. After recharging their brand new iPhone 15, some had the unpleasant surprise of seeing it restart, before displaying an error message.

The smartphone then explains to the user that it is impossible to configure Apple Pay or Digital Key. And for good reason: wireless charging from BMW would tend to render the iPhone 15’s NFC chip out of service.

Spare iPhones… for lack of anything better?

According to some users, Apple is well aware of the problem, and has already carried out various iPhone exchanges. This is, however, a temporary solution, as replacement devices are just as likely to be affected by the same problem if they are recharged using the BMW pad.

I received a replacement device. The same thing happened again and the phone kept going into restore mode randomly, each time for over 90 minutes. I returned my iPhone 15 Pro today and got back to my 14 pro, which has none of these issues », explains a user on MacRumors.

We will have to wait a little longer to determine the origin of this umpteenth bug which hits the new iPhone range, already affected by overheating problems, by a titanium frame which is not unanimously accepted, or by a certain fragility compared to to the previous generation. It remains to be seen whether Apple will be able to resolve the latter via a software patch.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro

  • Almost as light as the iPhone 15
  • Hyper bright screen
  • The most efficient iPhone

This year, the iPhone 15 Pro necessarily suffers from the comparison with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The reason ? A telephoto lens that stands still, where its big brother benefits from Apple’s very first periscope.

The iPhone 15 Pro nonetheless remains an excellent smartphone, which is also more affordable than last year’s model. Rarely light for a phone of this standing, its titanium shell gives it a stunning look and impeccable grip. Be careful, however: the iPhone 15 Pro tends to heat up, especially in games where the A17 Pro chip is heavily used.

Either way, you probably want to avoid playing for too long. Because if the iPhone 15 Pro is almost close to the iPhone 15 on the scale, it also borrows its… light autonomy from its little brother. If you’re the type to spend more than 3 to 4 hours in front of your smartphone, you might feel a little cramped with the iPhone 15 Pro.
