As pre-orders for the new iPhone 15 range begin, did you know that some of the features introduced by Apple already exist on Pixel 7 from Google?

During its keynote on Tuesday, September 12, the Apple brand presented a host of new products: two Apple Watches and four new iPhones. Unsurprisingly, it is the new smartphones that have mainly attracted the public’s attention, notably the Pro range, which introduced new features such as the Action button. Others, if they did not exist on the iPhone before, are already present on devices from competitor Google. And no, it’s not just the USB-C cable.

Google has already done it

Apple has indeed introduced a voice isolation feature during calls to eliminate unwanted noise that can disrupt the conversation. It is reminiscent of the Clear Calling of the Google Pixel 7, which also reduces background noise and improves voice quality.

With the iPhone 15 it will be possible to control the depth of photographs by adding a blur effect to a particular subject in the image, but also to modify the focus level of the shot to completely change the character of the picture. The Pixel 7 offers a similar feature called Unblur, which allows you to select which subjects to foreground or blur.

8 GB of RAM on the iPhone?

A new feature of iOS 17 is also available on Google smartphones. Audio transcription, which allows you to read a transcription of voice memos instead of listening to them, was announced last year by the Mountain View firm. “ You can stay in the loop without distracting your peers or covering your ears to hear over the crowd », explained Jonathan Eccles, Group Product Manager at Google.

Less notable, we can also note the similar RAM between the iPhone 15 Pro and the Pixel 7. If Apple does not generally reveal the RAM of its smartphones, the 15 Pro range is finally equipped with 8 GB of RAM, according to the site MacRumors. The simple model remains at 6 GB.

In a few weeks, Google will unveil its Pixel 8… Let’s see if it will borrow features from the iPhone 15.
