On April 4, 2024, leaker Sonny Dickson shared dummy models highlighting three developments planned by Apple:

The second information leak comes to us from The Elec. In a publication shared this Thursday, the South Korean media explains that Apple would consider offering thinner borders on the iPhone 16.

For this, the Apple firm would have opted for a new technology called Border Reduction Structure. Quite complex, the latter requires precise and advanced manufacturing techniques.

It is also specified that Apple’s suppliers (including LG and Samsung) are still struggling to achieve the volumes and quality levels desired by the Apple firm.

By offering thinner bezels around the iPhone 16, Apple could avoid making its future premium devices too imposing.

Indeed, previous rumors mentioned an increase in the diagonal of the next Pro models:

  • iPhone 16 Pro: 6.3 inches, compared to 6.1 inches for the iPhone 15 Pro;
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: 6.9 inches, compared to 6.7 inches for the 15 Pro Max.
