Because Apple’s first goal is not to improve the voice quality of phone calls. Rather, the iPhone inventor has in mind the improvement of Siri’s artificial intelligence. “Strengthening Siri’s hardware and software features and specifications is key to promoting AI-generated content,” the post on Medium said.
The new microphone should also improve the signal-to-noise ratio and be even more weatherproof. According to reports, Siri will become significantly more powerful with iOS 18 at the latest and will be able to use AI to answer many questions that have so far come to nothing.
Observers therefore assume that an improved Siri experience could even become one of the main selling points of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.
